A Sweet Chestnut hedging plant prized for its hardy nature, nuts, and beautiful colours
Believed to have first been introduced to Britain by the Romans, Sweet Chestnut makes a reliable addition to the garden with its hardy nature. The leaves are distinctive with a long shape and undulating margin, and come autumn, they change from bright green to gold, and later mahogany. Sweet Chestnut is also appreciated for its Chestnut seeds and timber too.
